Tottenham Star begins to shine?

Last updated : 04 May 2015 By Hoggg

Erik Lamela had likely his most memorable Premier League game to date.

He setup 6 chances more than any other player in the EPL (over the weekend).

He was actually putting in a good shift. Tracking back has always been a bad trait for the youngster, but he was back and forward more than I can remember in any game in a Tottenham shirt.

Although against Southampton he did not play a great game he did score and then to move on and play his best EPL game surely it could be that the most expensive player in Tottenham's history is about to show his worth?

Here is what a few of the fans are saying about his performance yesterday:

Lamela's work rate is absolutely insane, he's all over the pitch

Chris Miller ‏@WindyCOYS

Lamela is such a battler. If there's any justice in the world he will become, at least, an above average player for us. #THFC

Raj Bains ‏@BainsXIII

Lamela has been the best #THFC player on the park. His work rate in both attack and defence is absolutely non-stop. Tonnes of time for that.

Lamela will be one of the best wingers in the prem next season, fav this

Spurs In The Blood ‏@SpursInTheBlood

Thought Lamela was good in that first half.

THFC Spurs ‏@G0Spurs

Rose, Lamela and Dier. All outstanding today.

Nikhil Saglani ‏@Nikhil_Saglani

Five best players today in order, IMO: Lamela, Dier, Rose, Bentaleb & Vertonghen.

Paul O Keefe ‏@pokeefe1

I thought Rose was again very good. Lamela (i know) probably had his best game for us. Admittedly he hasn't set the bar very high

If you don't want to listen to what I say or other just Look at Squawka's stats, Lamela was the best player for Tottenham and joint 3rd best player on the pitch (as to how Kolarov finished with 5 and not 4 1/2 stars I will never know).
