Tottenham still in turmoil

This sort of result is "misleading" as fans now think that the team are performing again.

Watching the full game I am left scratching my head as to how Eriksen managed to finish 2nd in this weekend’s Optima Stats and Chadli came 4th?

Both players were in fact lazy, made a lot of wrong choices and should not have received as much praise as he figures may suggest.

The true reason as to why Tottenham looked good was simply that Newcastle were just FAR WORSE. There was an incident I believe in the second half where 4 players or so had very poor control and passing that the ball went between both teams in such quick succession that no one could read what was going to happen.

The point all be it in a roundabout way is that Tottenham are yet to step up and produce a truly dominate performance and have not since the Chelsea win.

MoPo is playing a slow and poor Fazio as a centre back and playing the young Dier out of position instead of untested Yedlin. There is no excuse for this it should not be happening. If There is no faith in Yedlin playing why buy him?

There are a lot of players under performing and is almost hilarious as to what people see and don't. Chadli is as bad a player on the pitch as Lamela, but yet Lamela get all the stick? Yes Chadli has scored 11 goals, but that shows he had an ok performance in 11 games (what about the other 29 games he played in?). Eriksen is moved from one position to the next and this will have attributed to his inconsistent performances, however I still expect more and so should everyone else!

Lennon has shown that there is a complete lack of commitment and mentality within the squad, this is shown in that he moves to Everton and almost instantaneously turns Everton's fortune around.

Players seem to leave Tottenham permanently or on loan and then become better. This is not the case but it highlights that there is a huge problem with the squad. He now has a goal scoring ratio of 0.33, 8 goals in 24 appearances!

Dawson was sold and our defence seemed to fall apart, leaking more goals than the top 13 teams in the league and more than Hull (who lay joint 17/18th!

There has been no improvement in the "business" end of the season, so I am sure it will not be long before pundits and journalists will point to fatigue. However I will not accept that. Tottenham have not once pushed on at this stage of the season and have always faltered come usually February/ March. A bigger piece of work must be done. Players must be dropped and more youngsters tested (that will give 100% commitment).

The reason that MoPo works well with youngster is that they are more grateful than the older players that feel they no longer have to earn their position.

This is what the squad must have BEATEN out of them. No longer does a name warrant a starting berth, looking good in training is not good enough, giving someone game time in hope to showcase them for a summer move is just counterproductive. MoPo must BUILD a team that play well on the pitch consistently. Players that support one another producing fluid forward movement and can tuck in to cover when other’s move further forward. It’s not difficult, however Tottenham are a club that have for too long allowed this mentality to sink deep into the players and are yet to address it.
