Tottenham Too Hot for Villa

Last updated : 27 December 2012 By Hog

The first half we displayed complete dominance, but we failed to score. It was fraustrating but the concern was what would happen if Villa got us on the break.

Gallas was looking good again and hopefully the stick he has been getting from the fans along with the talking to from AVB seems to have done the trick. We had a great defensive performance throughout the game and 2 clean sheets in the past 2 games cannot go a miss.

Although Lloris was not tested enough to have been in the game he did come into action a few times to deserve his clean sheet to a degree. In my opinion given how we have looked in defence of recent it is not something to snort at as we almost look complete.

However... this is down to what I have been commenting on for the whole season. If we control the possession and tempo the rest of team seem to fall into place. Gareth Bale was outstanding and I am sure AVB must have told him that Jose personally said he's not good enough for Madrid at the moment (Haha). The guy looked in a league of his own yesterday and he is beginning to show again why he deserves the special praise he receives so often.

Another thing that is important to me is that when Parker was substitued on we looked even stronger. He bossed the midfield and connected the team. How can we complain? Lennon was also in good form as has Siggy been for the past 2 games that he has come for. The only disappointment for me was that Ade was not quite on form and thus could not get on the score sheet.

All in all a happy day at the office and AVB must be proud of his men who rightly so destroyed a young Villa team that is still learning but I would expect for them to grow well.

COYS!!!!
