Tottenham vs Leicester

Last updated : 21 March 2015 By Hoggg

Tottenham's last loss at WHL (in all competitions) came back in January with a shock FA Cup knockout blow by Leicester. With such a complete lapse in concentration and a lack of attacking class the team owe the fans a BIG performance (especially with last weeks VERY poor show).

For me it is important for the likes of Eriksen to put in a good game as again his form of recent has not been great (in fact more blending into the background). Kyle Walker MUST also show a huge improvement as he seems to have now got his starting place back and completely relaxed (after a great run of games from his long term injury). Hugo Lloris needs and should get a clean sheet today (failing to keep a clean sheet in 9 games and shipping 11 goals in the last 5 games). Most importantly I expect to see an attacking game, controlled in midfield with plenty of chances being created in the final third.

All season I find that Tottenham have struggled to consistently produce there throughout a game. We have seen glimpses (look at the 5-2 win over Chelsea). We need to push up hold our positions and get balls into the dangerous zones.

Leicester have lost only 2 in 8 of the last league and cup games at the Lane (4 wins & 2 Draws), so its another reason for the Tottenham players to get to grips with this Bogey Team. The last EPL game against Leicester saw Tottenham go in at half time 3-1 up only to end up with a 4-4 draw.

Leicester have only managed 1 win in 2015 and it came against an Aston Villa side that were very much in trouble, so to lose or even draw today would be a complete disaster!

For me this game should be an easy win for Tottenham who have been able to grind results out against the "lesser" teams in recent games.

I feel a 3-0 win would be a good respectable score today, but we really need to start seeing a controlled goal feast from Spurs if they are ever going to build the momentum back up to get back into a champion league spot (a whooping 6 point gap).
