Townsend not affected by

We have all heard it and whilst you can understand that some people would construe the joke as racist. Townsend (a memeber of the Kick It Out organisation with his father) had made it clear to the FA and Hodgson that the joke was not taken in anyway other than how it was intended.

What makes me laugh is that some people are happy to cast such accusations albeit Roy Hodgson with years of experience in the football industry (working with numerous different races) and made zero racist comments to date (or made public)? I'm sorry but this sounds like another pointless case that Peter Herbert may take up.

I believe that every person has said something that could be “construed” as racist on a daily basis, but it is how it is intended. If someone has taken it the wrong way and the individual explains how it is meant and puts forward an apology, does that make them racist? No!

This whole story has been blown well out of proportion by some idiot. It had to have come from someone in the England dressing room in the first place, but what happens in the dressing room stays in the dressing room (unless it is 100% racist or deemed as a criminal act).

Although Hodgson is not my No.1 manager for England he has picked up the poisoned chalice well. He has taken risks and they have paid off. For me I cannot argue with Hodgson at the moment, we are top of the qualifiers group and have qualified for the World Cup. Is that not a good job?

England is second in my heart to Tottenham, but with a few Tottenham players in the squad I can see myself getting more interested in the national squad.

What are your thoughts on Hodgson? Should he be held accountable for something that others have taken the wrong way?
