Transfer round up

Firstly we have Adebayor is leaving and we are to replace him with Damiao. I have been saying this for months now. It is the same as the Moutinho deal, its not happening. Damiao and Inter had said that he was staying until the world cup at least. But I must remind most people that the player export figures from Brazil have dropped. This is due to the world cup and also down to the fact that the Brazilian clubs are now offering much more money. So why move all the way across the other side of the world when your young and be away from all your family? Its the same reason why so many Brazilians have moved back.

The only draw to Europe now is playing in one of the worlds top teams, but as figures have shown its not as much of a pull as it used to be. Oh and now that the Brazilian clubs are asking for top dollar many clubs aren't willing to splash out like they used to.

Lloris is to move to Barcelona. Well I don't see this happening either. Barcelona have not been scouting him and it is purely down to his great perfomances that he is being linked elsewhere. Just like Ferguson would not sell De Gea, AVb (and Levy) will not be selling Lloris. Finally Lloris is settling in well and does not wish to up stick and move on (or at least not just yet).

The Lennon to Liverpool rumourseems to have made its way back round again. Only reason I bring it up is because its farcial. All I have to say is Lennon is looking forward not backwards.

Finally we come to Gareth Bale. Yes he is rumoured to have been at the game last night, but so what? There were likely to be other players from the EPL there. Even if he was invited there as a guest of Man Utd or Real Madrid it still means nothing. At this stage in his career Gareth seems to be concentrating fully on his game and that is commendable. His head is not being turned on the pitch which is most important. Whenever there is a player performing well the first thing that happens is the papers jump in with their stories to say he's off. Whether Gareth will leave actually depends fully on the ambition of the club. Levy is no doubt looking at what he can do to keep Gareth but he will have to move swiftly. No one has come out asking for more money so it is a good idea to strike while the iron is hot and offer Bale another contract tie him up for 4 years and then splash on the needed recruits that AVB wants.

I cannot deny that I felt that AVB may need too long to settle or that I was angered and gobsmakced that Levy did not buy another striker. However the form and table are what does all the talking we need. A lot of people shout the in Levy we trust and he is the best chairman to ever grace WHL. The issue is always seeing it. I like somethings our chairman does and not others (but that comes down to opinion). Lets face it readers we as fans do not know the full story behind things and nor do we have the experience to know whether the decision is right at the time. We have hindsight and lets face it, its useless.

So as I have been harping on recently lets focus purely on our team, try to remember that we are there to focus on the players on the pitch and give them the confidence by cheering as loud as we can.

Another mention on our competition in conjunction with ICONS.com. The Gareth Bale shirt comp is going down a screamer (much like the derby result). We have had hundreds of entrances and the competition will be running until 29th March so make sure that if you haven't entered that you do below;
