Some may say that we would be crazy to think that Spurs could get a win against Utd at Old Trafford today, but it's not been a normal season for Spurs or Utd. Each season we manage to pull off a shock result against one of the bigger teams, but we have only managed a 1-1 draw with Chelsea and a 2-2 draw with Utd, so you could excuse me for believing that today could be the result we have been waiting for.
As it stands after Everton drew 1-1 with Stoke and Newcastle lost 1-0 to WBA we are now in the unique opportunity to move within touching distance again of the top 4 (just 2 points out of the pack).
Given Utd's record against us and their recent record of 4 successive wins you would likely put money on the Devils winning, however over the past 6 games we have the better record of 4 wins, a draw and a loss, compared to Utd's 4 wins and 2 losses.
Can we get the result today can we bridge the gap? I really hope so, but what is important is that the players give it their all and that we take the game to Utd.
Lamela should have got a chance, but at least he is on the bench! Bentaleb makes the bench again (which is great news), importantly Rose and Walker come back into the side!
