Firstly I am not claiming to be "In The Know", but many people are growing frustrated and complaining and I think that it is important that we all take a step back and relax (which is why I feel its important to release this).
Tottenham had a £17million offer rejected for Soldado by Valencia, but have since gone back in with a £20million offer. However there was no official "offer" but it is said that Tottenham were told that if they were to offer £17miilion it would be rejected. So read into that however you want, but Valencia came out and stated no official bid was made (so this does all tie in neatly). Albeit talks are ongoing.
It was these talks that had made us consider the David Villa approach and take a step back (as Villa said himself we were taking too long).
Fans are rightly angry (following our inability to land a striker in two different windows last season), but we must also remember that landing a World Class striker takes time. We have been up against clubs with Champions League football in our striker hunt and it seems as if Soldado is one striker that we have an edge on (or so it seems).
Again remember guys and gals the Paulinho bid was kept under wraps for a while and not much was readily available, so expect the same with our striker chase.
As to whether the sources stating all this are true only time will show.
On a slightly different angle Soldado has always been my number 1 choice (if money was no object) and making such a signing is without a doubt a true show of ambition, something that would keep the likes of Bale and AVB with this level of quality coming in.
Even though it all seems to neatly tie up and make sense, look at it like a jigsaw, the pieces may seem to fit, but can still be wrong.
COYS!!!
