De Boer has confirmed that although there is an issue with Ajax paying him his fee of his sale he expects for the transfer to go through but whether it is before they start training or not is uncertain.
So it comes to light that the stalling has been that Ajax wanted more for the defender as they had to pay money out to him. However would you question why Vertonghen has not forgone this fee to push through his transfer? Or ask yourself this would you?
Either way if the current Gaffer expects it to go through then he must have been assured of funds to replace him otherwise he wouldn't come out and make the statement in public that he expects the move to complete.
Vertonghen's comments are in hope that he can push the move through on both sides by stating he expects for this clause to break off the talks. Lets face it Levy wants him and Ajax don't want to loose him for nothing with only 12 months left on his contract.
My opinion is it seems a done deal. But don't believe the ITK rumour mill of Remy, Modric 2 big signings etc etc.
Stick to the facts and then you aren't going to be disappointed if we don't land Higuain haha.
