We are not getting the best from Soldado

3 penalties out of 3 shows the strikers accuracy and composure. The one goal from open play shows that he is capable of scoring in open play.

However we are not playing the best players to get the most out of the forward.

Admittingly Lennon was playing well (yesterday) and skipping past his opponents, however he only managed one cross. Andros was more interested in shooting from outside the box, but you can understand it was more out of frustration (but this will change as he matures). These two on the wing should be capable of providing the cut backs and low crosses expected of a winger.

Soldado has scored all his goals from the box and it is the cut backs from the byline, defence splitting passes and low crosses that have released him.

So where are we going wrong?

Lennon is scared of shooting, so he must get himself into the right positions to cut back. Using his pace he is capable of creating the space to get the right balls across. Andros will begin to learn when to shoot and when to cross (like with Lennon), it will just take some extra training and game time.

However we come to the support man. Holtby has played this role ok and in fact created the chance for Paulinho to setup Soldado’s first goal in open play. Yesterday's game highlighted why Holtby is not a support man. He pressed well high up the pitch and helped to disrupt Everton's flow, but there was no creative side of his game on display. Holtby is not quite a holding midfielder, but he is a central midfielder and should be used in this role not in the support striker role.

Eriksen is the player than will help to unlock Soldado. Upon his arrival we saw some fantastic link up with Soldado, but he was quickly dropped to the bench by AVB? With him back in the team we will see the difference.

Lamela is another player that can help our fight, but it is the settling that is the issue. This can and will all change once the youngster finds his feet, but we have to wait.

I am not concerned yet as I know that we will see Soldado's best, but I hope that it will be sooner rather than later.

Once again I must highlight that those calling for Defoe's start will not see a change to our scoring tally with him leading the line. It is merely a lack of creativity. It has shown each game, so a change of forwards will not help.

The team is coming together and we will see these chances being created for Soldado, but as we all know it takes a bit of time.

We are in no rush we have now had our best Premier League start in history and lay joint 2nd, plus as stated before Soldado has won us more points than any individual player in the squad.

Wait for the settling and learning to be complete and then the goals will be notching up fast enough.

Come On Soldado and Come On You Spurs!!!!!!!
