I had read articles from numerous sources stated that we have spent this, that and the other, but what will we spend come January.
Firstly if we buy we should buy a LB and if AVB really doesn't want Ade then he has to be sold and a replacement striker brought in. So really this could be done cost effectively as Pereira is available on the cheap and a striker could be found for around £15million (so £20million).
However in my opinion we should only be buying an additional LB and utilise Ade.
At RB we have the two Kyle's. Centre back we have an abundance Jan, Daws, Kaboul and Chiriches. LB we only have Rose (who is still young and learning, so an experienced player would be good).
In midfield we have such an abundance of talent we have enough to field 3 Premier League standard midfield. Up fornt if we include Ade (on paper) we have a fantastic lineup, but again AVB refuses to play him.
In goal we have Lloris and Friedel, so we could look at an understudy here, but it is not particularly important until the summer as we still have Gomes on the books.
So in what world do we need to spend another large amount of cash?
Defensively its the strongest we have looked for years, but moving forward we have struggled. The likes of Lamela is starting to push into the team which will change our dynamics and play, so we should see this result in more chances being created for the strikers.
It does all depend on numerous things, but most importantly is whether AVB will get the best out of them.
Calls for Lamela have been rampant from the fans, however AVB is reluctant to play Lamela until he learns English enough to settle into the team. For me though football is an international language, you practice enough simple sounds and grunts would suffice to grabs your team mates attention!
We shall see whether things are about to change soon enough, but for me we have enough talent to challenge for a top 4 finish it's just getting the best out of them.
Let's hope that the international break brings heartache to the other team rather than just us.
