What is Levy doing with Vertonghen!

I don't care whether he has a year left on his contract or not, he is worth the money, he wants to come, he would be a key investment, so why the delay? The short version of this story is that we may miss out on a fantastic player if we take too long on haggling. Yes Levy my not think that 15million euros is too high for someone with a year left, but a player is really worth what someone is willing to pay (look at Andy Carroll!).

My concern is that this deal has been dragging on for some time and with the player now (according to the papers) becoming concerned as to the length of time it is all taking. He could end up at Arsenal!

If we miss out on Vertonghen then it will be a massive mistake. We need to build a strong back 4 and if we can put in a solid world class centre back to go with Kaboul or Dawson (when fit) we will then close up the unnecessary goals leaked at times.

However there is still the gaps up front and in goal to fill, midfield is no longer a priority, but we really do need to wrap things up fast as it was only the timing that allowed us to sneak in.
