Konoplyanka has reportedly been a target at Tottenham since last summer with a deal close, but Liverpool was his expected destination.
The reason for the sudden break of news is due to Everton's interest. Fortunately for Tottenham it seems as though the business is pretty much done with the Toffee's being told he is off to Tottenham.
However don't get too excited as a summer deal is the likely outcome. This could be a similar situation as to the Holtby deal in which Spurs ended up agreeing for an early arrival.
Either way its a good move for both parties.
