Alessandro Bastoni: Agent claims he will 'definitely stay' at Inter

Alessandro Bastoni is 'definitely staying' at Inter this summer despite interest from Tottenham, according to his agent.

Bastoni impressed for the Nerazzurri during the 2021/22 campaign, making 31 Serie A appearances as well as featuring regularly in his side's Champions League campaign.

His displays have earned him plenty of admirers with Spurs the club most strongly linked with a move for the 23-year-old. 90min understands that the centre-back was interested in the switch and recently informed Inter that he would like to move to north London.

However, he now seems unlikely to move during the current window. Despite Spurs transfer chief Fabio Paratici pushing hard for the player, his agent Tullio Tinti has insisted that Bastoni would be remaining at the club after being ambushed by reporters on Wednesday.

"He is definitely staying, he has a contract and is happy to play for Inter," he said.

This week they discuss whether Sadio Mane will leave Liverpool for Bayern Munich, Manchester United's pursuit of Benfica striker Darwin Nunez, Newcastle's plans for Moussa Diaby and Sven Botman & Jorginho's future at Chelsea.

As well as Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United have been linked with Bastoni in the past, who 90min now understands is happy to stay at the San Siro and is in line for a new Inter contract alongside fellow centre-back Milan Skriniar.

Spurs have already been busy in the transfer window, bringing in Ivan Perisic on a free transfer from Inter and also signing Southampton stopper Fraser Forster as back-up for Hugo Lloris.
