Antonio Conte isolating with Covid-19 ahead of Brighton clash

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte has tested positive for Covid-19 but could still be in the dugout for Saturday's visit of Brighton.

Spurs are enjoying a four-game winning streak which, alongside a dip in form from their rivals, has seen them fly up into fourth place, with qualification for the Champions League now firmly in their hands.

However, their preparations for Saturday's meeting with Brighton have been thrown off the rails by the news that Conte tested positive for the virus over the weekend following the 4-0 victory over Aston Villa.

A pre-match press conference on Thursday, which was supposed to be in front of the media, has now been scheduled for Zoom instead.

Conte has been isolating ever since the positive test but football.london note that Spurs expect him to be negative and well enough to take charge against the Seagulls.

Should Conte not make it back in time, it remains to be seen who would be in the dugout for the Brighton game. Cristian Stellini is Conte's assistant, while first-team coach Ryan Mason could be an option.
