The Spurs full-back has been forced to withdraw from the Cameroon squad, who are due to play in the African Nations Cup in Angola this month, because he has a groin injury.
"Benoit is having an an injection on Monday," Spurs boss Harry Redknapp said.
"He will be out for a few weeks.
"He has been terrific. Two terrific players, him and Lennon, have both picked up groin strains.
"It's a big blow to us. They are two outstanding players."
