Barcelona target Tottenhams Gareth Bale in 40m summer swoop

The Spanish giants are considering a ?40million bid for the Welsh wing-wizard, a deal that could put on ice any plans the club have to reignite their interest in Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas.

Both Arsenal and Tottenham are bracing themselves for big money bids, but it is understood that Spurs have most to fear as Barcelona are less concerned about their central-midfield than they are the troublesome left-back role.
