Blondel blasts Pleat

Jonathan Blondel has fired a parting shot at David Pleat after he left Spurs for Belgian side Club Brugges yesterday. Blondel, who was signed in 2002 while Glenn Hoddle was in charge, but reportedly by Pleat himself, had failed to hold down a regular first team place and has been snapped up by Club Brugges. He stated, ''This season Pleat wanted to put me out on loan with Burnley, but I refused. I really wanted to return to Belgium, where I started.' Pleat responded by saying that Blondel simply hadn't settled in at the club.
