Boro defeat moves Spurs into top eight

Although Spurs used up their game in hand at the Valley last Wednesday, five points now separate them from the top five in the Premiership.

Newcastle and Aston Villa, both immediately below Spurs in the Premiership table also dropped points.

Tottenham’s next opponents on April 2nd, Birmingham City moved up to 13th after a 2-0 win against local rivals Villa at St Andrews on Sunday.

Jol's Tottenham recovered quickly following defeat at Charlton last week.
