Continue supporting the training ground application

The club said it was grateful for the support given to the original planning application and have since submitted a revised planning application for a proposed First Team and Academy Training Facility in Bulls Cross, Enfield.

But a key factor in this decision will be the amount of support for the scheme shown by local residents. Your correspondence will count. If you live in Enfield, on the fringes of the Borough, or are a regular visitor to the Borough, then please write - quoting the reference TP/06/0735 - to:

Mr D J Snell, Planning Officer,
Enfield Council, PO Box 53
Civic Centre, Silver Street
Enfield, Mddx EN1 3XE.

or if it is more convenient, send an email:

The club has also asked supporters to urge friends or family living within the Borough of Enfield, to contact the Council and voice their approval for a scheme vital to the future success of the club.

Club captain Ledley King has added his support to the club's campaign with his own letter to the Council.

The club's discussions with Enfield and the GLA identified the need for design revisions to the main building, while the community consultation identified that the key concern was the impact of the club's Community Partnership Facility plans on Bullsmoor Open Space.

To address these issues the initial plans were reviewed and the revised planning application submitted. The main changes include:
- Improvements to the overall design of the First Team and Academy Training Centre.
- Improvements to the layout of the training centre making better use of the space allowing for a reduction in the overall area of the building by 900 sqm.
- Making the facility ‘greener' through the use of renewable energy and more efficient water use and recycling.
