Davies comeback leads to transfer speculation

Davies now hopes he can play his first full competitive match since recovering from the energy sapping virus which kept him out of action since November.

"If I can get 90 minutes for the reserves at Carrow Road on Wednesday night I'll be speaking to Chris and Martin on Thursday and telling them I'm ready. It would be great to be involved on Saturday, even to be on the bench would be fantastic," he told the official website.

With Spurs chasing a long list of right wingers, suggestions have been made that the club is preparing to offload the Welshman for a fee of around £5m.

Davies eyes an FA Cup return

However, the return of Davies forced Tottenham's recent signing David Limbersky onto the left wing for the reserves last Tuesday.

Everton continue to be linked with Davies, but the Merseysiders are unlikely to offer anywhere near the asking price for a player who has been sidelined for long spells during the last two seasons.
