The 24-year-old welsh international, who still has four-years to run on his Spurs contract, was reported to have held talks over his future at White Hart Lane.

"It's laughable really and I don't know where these stories have come from," he told Spurs' official website.

"Someone told me the other day that I'd had a meeting with the manager and told him that I wanted to leave but it's just people trying to stir things up.

"I've never asked to leave. I signed a five-year contract last year! If I wanted to leave I would have just let it run out and I would have had a year left now.

"I signed a five-year deal, I've four left and I'm happy here. I've never had a problem with the manager either, not at all. In fact, since the manager has been here, he's played me more often than not and that's what you want as a player.

"I only missed out once on being involved last season and that when I was suspended. That says it all really. I'm a club where I'm playing the majority of the games and that's what you want as a player.

"Obviously things didn't go as well as we wanted them to last season and we were unhappy as a club. That's why we were all disappointed."
