Dele Alli urges Tottenham not to under-estimate Bournemouth

Eddie Howe's Cherries have taken 10 points from the last 12 available - a run that has steered them to the brink of safety in the Barclays Premier League.

Spurs have less room for manoeuvre, given Leicester are five points clear at the top of the table, but Mauricio Pochettino's side have no distractions after being knocked out of the Europa League by Borussia Dortmund on Thursday.

"Bournemouth have got some great players and it's another one of the surprises this season," Alli said.

"A lot of people probably expected them to go down but they've got a great manager, a lot of great players and it's important that we don't become complacent, and that we do our job and stay professional.

"I don't think a lot of people expected Leicester to be up there, but then a lot of people probably didn't expect us to be up there.

"We are just going to keep taking each game as it comes, not worry about the league too much and carry on what we've been doing, and hopefully be up there at the end of the season."

Tottenham defender Ben Davies is unlikely to play at White Hart Lane as he continues to be tested for concussion following a nasty collision with Hugo Lloris against Dortmund.

Eric Dier is also struggling to be fit

The midfielder looked to be in some discomfort at the end of Thursday's 2-1 defeat and Pochettino confirmed after the game he had picked up a knock.

Dier has been a key player in his team's success this season and he admits Spurs' league position has made them a target for opponents.

"Bournemouth have been really impressive and credit to them, they play a good brand of football and they have carried themselves very well in their first season in the Premier League," Dier told the official club website.

"They are on a great run and pretty much safe now, so they will play with freedom as well and with us being up at the top everyone will want to beat us, so we have to be at our best.

"We have to match them for energy, attitude, willingness and then hopefully our quality will take over.

"We're a young team and everyone is enjoying it at the moment

Everyone is relishing it and we're loving the challenge."
