Ellie Brazil joins Tottenham from Brighton

Tottenham have confirmed the signing of Ellie Brazil on a free transfer from Brighton following the conclusion of her contract with the Seagulls.

The forward has put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the club, with the option of a further year, keeping her in north London until at least 2024.

Brazil is Spurs' second summer signing following the arrival of midfielder Drew Spence from Chelsea, as Rehanne Skinner's side look to build on their impressive fifth place finish during the 2021/22 WSL season.

"I'm really pleased to welcome Ellie to Spurs," said Skinner. "Having had significant experience across the England youth teams and played club football at home and in Europe, she has a vast experience base that will enhance the team, but has years ahead of her in her career as well.

"Ellie is a versatile forward who is hard-working and committed, and she will add a further dimension to our forward line."

Brazil is a welcome addition to the Spurs squad, after fellow forwards Rachel Williams and Angela Addison departed the club at the end of June following the conclusion of their contracts.

She is a product of the Derby County youth system, prior to moving to Birmingham in 2016, and then enjoying a season with Fiorentina during the 2017/18 campaign.

The 23-year-old joined Brighton in 2018 and was the team's top scorer during her debut season. She went on to make 60 league appearances for Hope Powell's side, and has represented England from Under-17 through to Under-21 level.
