Following the departure of David Limbersky the 21-year-old Icelander has moved into his favourite position on the left wing.
"Emil is getting into the positions you’d hope from a wide left player. He’s improved with each game, he’s getting more opportunities and he’s beginning to learn that role," said Allen.
"When he’s wide he’s in positions where we can find him with the ball and with the quality he has, he can provide ammunition for the front boys as well as getting onto crosses from the other side," he added.
