Aaron Lennon missed out on a third cap after sustaining a hamstring injury that forced the winger to sit out Tottenham’s Premiership game at Bolton a week ago. There were 25,000 at Elland Road when Lennon made his debut for the Under-21s and their was a full house at White Hart Lane making it the biggest ever turnout for a game at this level.

Prior to the game Lennon said: "It's a bit of a blow because I'd only just got into the Under-21 squad, had a couple of good games and I'm gutted not to have the chance to play at White Hart Lane.

Tom Huddlestone, currently on loan at Wolves where he is getting the opportunity to play in Glenn Hoddle’s first team, turned out in front of home supporters in a competitive game for the first time since his arrival at the club.
