England's number one wants a medal

Ledley King, Jermain Defoe and Michael Carrick have never reached a final of a cup competition or a semi-final for that matter. And although Paul Robinson will be asked to pull on the gloves for England's World Cup qualifiers later this month, the 25-year-old is focussed right now on reaching Cardiff. "It is a game we would dearly love to win at the moment."

Robinson wants to build on his Champions League experience with Leeds

"It's a massive game - the quarter-final of the FA Cup - and obviously there are only two games bigger in the competition.

"The final is something I watched at home as a kid, coming in from playing outside to watch the occasion, it is English tradition.

"It would be brilliant to progress and for Spurs fans the competition is something special. They have missed out for a few years and it is about time we produced the goods," said Robinson.

Spurs got a real bargain when they paid Leeds United the tidy sum of £1.5m for Robinson last summer. Considering the performances he put in against West Bromwich Albion and Nottingham Forest in the earlier rounds, Robbo was soley responsible for keeping Spurs in the cup at times - a small matter Jol is happy to accept.

"When I talk to managers in Italy and Spain, they all know him (Robinson). There is one big manager in Italy, who I know well, and he says, 'What an unbelievable goalkeeper'.

"I think it is both because of his performances for Spurs and the fact that he is a regular England international that has made Paul the most talented goalkeeper in England," said Jol.
