Ferdinand can go

Hoddle recently turned down a bid from First Division Wolves to take the 35-year-old former England striker on loan claiming he was still part of his plans.

However, Ferdinand said he was not prepared to remain at White Hart Lane if it meant him spending the rest of the season only coming off the bench.

Ferdinand is now looking for a move away from Spurs when the transfer window re-opens in the New Year after Hoddle agreed to let him leave.

“I sat Les down and explained the position that he could move once the transfer window re-opens, if we receive an acceptable bid,” Hoddle said.

“Unfortunately Les has been out for three weeks with a hamstring injury but he is on his way back.”
