Ferdinand three game ban confirmed

A statement on www.theFA.com read: “The FA can confirm that disciplinary regulations state that players dismissed in reserve team matches for violent conduct, serious foul play or spitting at an opponent are suspended from all domestic football until the club has completed three matches in approved first team competitions.

“Furthermore, the FA can confirm that Ferdinand’s sending-off was for violent conduct, and that he will serve his three-match ban from Monday, December 30.”

Ferdinand will miss Premiership and FA Cup third round matches at Southampton on January 1st and 4th respectively and the league game at White Hart Lane against Everton on January 12th.
