FIFA to investigate Mali riot

Trouble broke out when visitors’ Togo scored the winner in injury time, prompting scores of home fans in Mali's capital Bamako to show their displeasure at the team’s efforts by invading the pitch. Rioting spread from the stadium to central Bamako, with many of those involved blaming the Mali players for the result.

Fredi Kanoute and his teammates all escaped when the police intervened by firing tear gas at the supporters.
