A unique behind-the-scenes slice of life in the Premiership has been captured, reported Sybil Ruscoe in The Daily Telegraph.

Martin Jol, the players and staff granted photographer Simon Mooney unlimited access to areas photographers usually find closed. His probing lens provides a fascinating window inside the dressing-room before the Arsenal derby in October and in the tunnel at White Hart Lane before the Aug 27 clash with Chelsea.

Other Premiership teams might be more interested in the shots of Jol with his white board talking tactics or marshalling the troops at the training ground. Players have allowed themsleves to be filmed in the treatment room where they are pictured on the massage table. Paul Robinson is pictured taping up his fingers like a boxer before putting on his gloves in one shot.

The book also included the significant contribution of the fans, pictured meeting players and celebrating in the stands. Only 2000 copies of the book that includes over 250 incredible photographs have been printed and are on sale exclusively through the club.

The book was the idea of Paul Barber, Spurs' executive director, who wanted to instigate a similar project with the England team when he was director of marketing at the Football Association.

"We want to make our players more accessible. They've let the photographer into the dressing-room and that gives a unique snapshot of something the fans never get to see. This is the first time that football fans can get inside a Premiership dressing-room," he said.
