Freund sweats on knee injury

The German midfielder, who has been in fine form this season, picked up the injury in a collision with Frank Lampard and had to be replaced by Tim Sherwood just before the half-hour.
Glenn Hoddle now faces an anxious wait on Freund's injury with the early concern that the 30-year-old has damaged knee ligaments, which could mean a prolonged spell on the sidelines.
Freund's injury could hand a chance to Sherwood, who has found himself out of the first-team picture at White Hart Lane so far this season.
But the former Blackburn man produced a superb display in the middle of the park last night and is likely to get a place in the starting XI for this weekend's trip to Ipswich.
Sherwood had been linked with a loan move to Rangers but with Freund facing an injury lay-off and the games beginning to pile up, Hoddle is unlikely to sell a player who could prove to be a key part of the squad.
