Future homes considered

The club may take on huge debts in order to find a bigger stadium.

Wembley Stadium developers Multiplex and the Football Association remain at loggerheads which is causing the governing body to dig deep for resources it cannot really afford. The idea would be that Wembley would become the new home of Spurs and that the club would lease it back to the FA for England games and FA Cup semi-finals and the final. Nevertheless the plan is considered to be a long shot even by insiders at the club.

Moving out of White Hart Lane and to a larger ground is a priority for Spurs at the moment, and they would jump at the chance to move into the 60,000 London Olympic Stadium in 2012.

Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone wants to subsidise a permanent athletics facility rather than let it go to a tenant.

The club would be required to approach people involved in London's Olympics bid to improve their chances.
