Harry Kane Claims Tottenham 'Have Enough' to Win Premier League

Harry Kane has said Tottenham are closer than ever to challenging for the Premier League title, believing they can capitalise on a chaotic season to challenge Liverpool and Manchester City at the top of the table.

Kane's Spurs look in fine fettle under Jose Mourinho this term and take on West Brom on Sunday looking to record a third straight league win. With Liverpool later travelling to Manchester City, Spurs will know that if results go in their favour, they can go into the international break at the summit of the table.

In a season where the strangest of things have already happened, vice-captain Kane sees no reason why they can't go all the way.

“When you look at the ability of our squad, you would definitely say that we’ve got enough to win a title," he told reporters ahead of the clash with West Brom.

“But I’d also say that we’ve been close over the last four, five years and haven’t quite got over the line. So, it’s not as easy as just having a good squad - and winning a few games - to challenge for the title.

“But this is a season where I don’t think one team’s going to run away with it - like Liverpool last year. There’s going to be opportunities for other teams to put good runs together and get right up the table."

Spurs have hardly been firing in their past two league outings, but managed to get wins over the line against both Burnley and Brighton. The mark of champions? Not for Kane to say, but yes.

“We’ve got to make sure we don’t get carried away either. We know we’ve been playing well - and the last two games have been good for confidence, to grind out results and get ugly wins. That’s what we’re going to need.

“There have still been points dropped from winning positions. But so far so good. If we can win at the weekend, we’ll be around the top of the table going into the international break. We’d have taken that before the start of the season.”
