Harry Redknapp was left rueing Spurs' failure to score more than two goals after the away draw against Everton.

Spurs looked to have sealed an away win with second half goals from Jermain Defoe and Michael Dawson but Everton fought back to 2-2.

Spurs still had a great opportunity to seal victory but Defoe missed a stoppage time penalty.

"It was game over wasn't it at 2-0? They were never going to get back in the game, really," Redknapp told Sky Sports after the game on Sunday evening.

"I felt we gave a sloppy goal away and suddenly, credit to them, we were ruing the opportunities we had missed to really kill the game off.

"The crowd got right behind them at 2-1 and gave them a lift and they had a real go and obviously got the second goal.

"We got a great opportunity with the penalty to sew the game up, but it wasn't to be.

"That can happen. People can miss penalties. Defoe didn't mean to miss the penalty."
