Hoddle applauds Spurs fans

Spurs went behind to an Alan Smith strike for the visitors but the crowd stayed with the team and Hoddle felt that helped the side claw their way back into the game and eventually go on to pick up all three points.

"I'm delighted. It was a good win for us and one that we should be proud of," Hoddle said after the game.

The crowd were fantastic as well even when we were 1-0 down. They can take a large slice of the credit for this result.

"We responded to them and totally dominated. I think we could have come in winning by several goals.

"Our performance on a general level was good at Birmingham as well last week. But because we lost that game to a ridiculous penalty there were some ludicrous people that wanted to judge us on one match alone."
