Hoddle blasts handball decision

King was harshly adjudged to have handled the ball in a tussle with Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink in last night's first leg at Stamford Bridge, and the Holland international stepped up to lash an unstoppable free-kick past Kasey Keller and give The Blues the initiative ahead of the return at White Hart Lane in two weeks' time.
"It was a simple decision which the referee should have got right," said Hoddle. "Most people in the stadium would have seen the handball was most definitely the other way.
"That decision has really hurt us, but having said there could also have been a penalty awarded against us late in the game.
"Overall, I am very pleased with our performance and even if we had managed to come away with a draw it wouldn't really have changed much in the second leg. We've got everything to play for."
Spurs will have skipper Teddy Sheringham, who was suspended from last night's game, back to lead the side in the second leg on January 22, while Hoddle will also hope Steffen Freund's injury is not as bad as first feared, after the midfielder limped off midway through the first half.
