Hoddle is keen to add a number of strikers to the squad over the Summer and with names like Philips, Eto'o etc all being linked, but Bent is the first player who Hoddle has spoken about.
"He is a good young player who has done reasonably well. There is nothing happening at the moment but he is a player we have been monitoring," Hoddle told the London Evening Standard.
"There are 10 or 11 players I am looking at and I will be going to a lot more games between now and the World Cup."
