"If I were a betting man, I'd put my money on Chelsea to win the title again - I can't see anyone to touch them," said Jol.

The Spurs coach also hinted to the newspaper that new signing Davids won't feature against FC Porto this weekend, although today it suggested he could play in Tottenham's final pre-season fixture after all.

"He's a fine professional, a winner and maybe he can play his first game for us in a fortnight's time," he said last week after the Davids deal was first announced.

Fans will be able to see the experienced Dutch international in action for Spurs in the opening game of the season at Fratton Park before his home debut against Middlesbrough a week later.
