Jol can dream of Amsterdam but Cardiff is becoming reality

Robbie Keane helped to squeeze Nottingham Forest into a corner at the City Ground on Wednesday night as Spurs reached the last eight of the FA Cup.

The 3-0 win allowed Spurs a moment's rest from the recent speculation linking Martin Jol with a move to Dutch giants Ajax where the head coach position became vacant a week ago.

Indeed Jol was a relieved manager when Spurs scored an elusive second goal after missing the chance first time round back at White Hart Lane. Tottenham's first two goals by Noe Pamarot and Keane were both scored in moves from corners.

"Forest played with a lot of players behind the ball in the first half, but at 2-0 they were dead and buried," said Jol, who is one game away from taking Spurs to a Cardiff semi-final in his first season as a Premiership coach.

Robbie Keane taps in Spurs second goal after Michael Brown flicks a header from a corner.

For Gary Megson, his Nottingham Forest side can now go back to concentrating on the more important task of their season, surviving relegation from the Coca-Cola Championship.

"If you play like we did you're going to have an uphill battle against a very good team," conceded the Forest boss.
