Jol: International coaches have to be winners

He said: "I got my A-licence (Top Dutch coaching qualification) when I was 40. I was already in football as a manager six years! Nowadays the course is every year - and do you know why they changed it? Because all the (successful) Euro '88 players had to do the course quickly – that’s a good thing."

"Holland have taken Van Basten, and Germany have Klinsmann (as national coach). You know why? - Because they were unbelievable legends. Johan Cruyff, our guru in Holland said: 'Van Basten must do it' so he did it. What can you say? Van Basten is such a legend."
