Alarmingly however, Spurs have conceded a total of nine goals against three London clubs at White Hart Lane in the past two months.

Jacques Santini's only real accomplishment in his brief tenure at Spurs was taking a point away from Stamford Bridge in September, a Tottenham performance Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho said resembled a team parking its bus in front of the goal.

"It wasn't so nice when Mourinho said that after the 0-0 but I can promise everyone we will try to score goals against them this time. We try to attack since I've been here and we will do that against Chelsea," said Martin Jol.

Jol was put in charge following Santini's departure at the beginning of November. The Dutchman was yesterday named Barclays Manager of the Month after four wins and a draw in the Premiership during December.

"We are improving with every game and the mentality is getting better and better - from day one I told the players the three things we needed to succeed were a top mentality, a good team spirit and the intention and desire to succeed," he added.
