Jose Mourinho Confirms Harry Kane Will Start Against Man Utd

Harry Kane will start against Manchester United on Friday night, Tottenham manager José Mourinho has confirmed.

Kane has not featured for Spurs since suffering a hamstring injury at Southampton on New Year's Day.

Tottenham captain Harry Kane has recovered from a hamstring injury since the Premier League's suspension

The England captain has recovered from this knock during shutdown with Mourinho revealing that he was in line to return against United.

"He is working extremely well, I can tell you no problem he is going to start the game," the former Chelsea boss said (via Sky Sports News).

"Does he have 90 minutes, 80, 70, 60? I don't know. Only the game will tell us that.

"Is he in his top form? We don't know. It is not a little training session. He's had around six months without playing a football match."

Kane has been in good form this season, netting 17 goals in 25 games. Moussa Sissoko and Heung-min Son have also recovered from injury and Mourinho went on to confirm that both would also be starting against United.

The game could have big implications in the race for European qualification. Spurs are currently sat in eighth place, four points behind the Red Devils in fifth, which is set to be a Champions League spot this season, owing to Manchester City's forthcoming ban from the competition.

Mourinho has not yet given up hope of achieving a top five finish but admitted that he would taking each game as it comes for the rest of the campaign.

"It is a strange battle to fight but at the same time it is a great challenge and a great motivation," he said.

"I will try not to look at that points difference. That is why I cannot tell you exactly the difference in points we have to our opponents.

"We have to look to this incredible challenge in the way that every game we will try to win.

"At the end of the nine matches we will see what we did and what our opponents did. Normally in these fights you don't have to depend as much as we do on our direct opponents. That is really difficult."
