Kelly enjoying the good times

Kelly has broken into the first team under Martin Jol.

"The away form is holding us back. We've played well away from home and created a lot of chances. It has just been difficult for us. We've also been unlucky in a lot of away games, like at Manchester United.

The 21-year-old right back celebrated scoring his first goal for the club at St Andrews last Saturday.

"It is fantastic to get my first goal but it would have been great to get the win as well.

"I make the runs forward so often and sometimes end up not getting the ball but creating space for other people. I called for Michael (Brown) to play it to me and first of all was concentrating on getting the ball down in front of me. As it dropped I just tried to keep it low and managed to do it.

"I didn't want to think about it too much because when you try to do things more naturally they tend to come off better. I took it in my stride and let it go.

"It is hard to describe the emotion, a fantastic feeling. You get a buzz about yourself and become more confident as the game goes on," he said.
