King and castle headed in right direction

King told The Guardian: "It's between my agent and the club. I am just letting them get on with it and concentrating on my football. I've always said that, if we are going in the right direction, I haven't got a problem.

"The lads have given us an indication of what we are capable of. We have a young squad and we have to keep going. The Champions League would be a bonus. You take it one game at a time and see where we can get."

Meanwhile, the Sunday Mirror began to stir other matters slightly with suggestions Martin Jol would be prepared to listen to offers for Andy Reid in the January transfer window.

The Sunday tabloid reported… ‘Reid was made the scapegoat for the (Carling Cup) defeat (against Grimsby Town) and ruthless Jol has selected him only twice for Premiership games since then.

The emergence of Aaron Lennon has also placed Reid's future in doubt, with Jol impressed by the way the England Under-21 international has adapted to life in the Premiership’….

Reid, signed at the beginning of the year for £4m from Nottingham Forest is yet to truly set the Premiership alight since the move. However, the Irishman has remained in Jol’s first team plans despite an array of new signings at Spurs in the summer.

And according to The People newspaper, Tottenham has agreed a four-year-deal worth close to £20 million with shirt manufacturers Puma.

They reported… ‘Tottenham's £15million, four-year deal with current shirt suppliers Kappa runs out at the end of the season and a new Puma shirt is being designed and will be unveiled later in the campaign’…

It also suggested the club is seeking to replace shirt sponsor Thomson and talks have apparently already been held with T-Mobile, the firm that sponsors West Brom.
