Konchesky on derby day defeat....

Paul Konchesky has told of his rollercoaster of emotions during Saturday's defeat to North London rivals Arsenal. Konchesky was part of the last side to win a London derby at Highbury, when Charlton won 4-2 in 2001, and must have thought that he'd done it again. However, that was not to to be the case.

He admitted that the game had been 'a great experience' but added his disappointment; 'The lads battled right until the end, and really and truly, were beaten by two poor goals and deserved better'. Konchesky noted that two misses by Helder Postiga changed the outcome of the game.

However, he feels that if that type of performance is taken into future games, starting with the visit of Aston Villa in a fortnight then the side will be on the right track. 'All of us worked really hard and worked for each other - and I think that's why we are doing alright at the moment' Konchesky will also be hoping that Saturday's was not to be his last North London derby.
