Spurs are expected to sign Steed Malbranque from Fulham in a deal worth approximately £2 million. Wayne Routledge will move to Craven Cottage for a year on loan as part of the switch.
Malbranque who prefers the right wing could have moved to Tottenham or any other club on a Bosman free transfer next summer. The Frenchman can also play on the left, the position Martin Jol will ask him to fill.
Fulham will be happy to get Routledge who is a natural short-term replacement for Malbranque on the right wing.
