Memories to cherish

Saturday 22nd April, Thursday 19th October and Sunday 5th November are Tottenham boss Martin Jol's three most memorable dates of 2006.

The first of those, saw a point earned in the north London derby that helped Tottenham move closer to a highest league finish since 1990 and the first time in 23 years that the club had qualified for Europe via the league.

Jol said: "I thought it was very good last season that we didn't have back-to-back defeats and achieving European football was great. We played some outstanding football at Highbury and they were very surprised."

"The Chelsea game this season was our first win against a ‘top' side. We also haven't lost against an international team in either a friendly or in the UEFA Cup this season and Besiktas was a special away win because everyone knew it would be difficult in front of an unbelievable crowd and after the game everyone realised we did something special.
