Mendes unsettled says Portuguese report

With so much quality in midfield among the Spurs squad right now, the former FC Porto player hasn't had a long spell in the side since his move to England last summer. With Sean Davis also ready to add further competition to the ranks, 26-year-old Mendes may not stick around for much longer if alleged comments made by the player carry weight. Mendes had already been forced to play out of his accustomed central midfield role but his number of first team opportunities in a wide role also dipped following the return from injury of Simon Davies in January.

"When you are not happy with your job, you have to move on.

"Spurs have not told me anything, so I will have to consider my situation. I deserve more respect. They should tell me what I am supposed to have done. Their behaviour towards me has changed," Mendes told the Portuguese press.

And on the eve of Tottenham's trip to Southampton reports suggesting Noe Pamarot, linked heavily with a move to St Mary's in January, was finding it difficult to adjust to life in London were also circulating.
