No go for Rivald-o

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has reportedly cut short talks with AC Milan and Brazil midfielder Rivaldo. Stories coming out of White Hart Lane yesterday led many to believe that Rivaldo was close to signing a deal that would bring him to the Premiership when the transfer window re-opens in January. However, it has become cler that the talks were ended by the Spurs chairman after lengthy discussions regarding the players wages. Rivaldo was chasing £50,000 a week, not a fee that Mr. Levy was willing to part with for a player in the latter stages of his career. The chase for Rivaldo began last summer, but the Brazilian chose to leave Barcelona for Milan, a decision he must now regret after very few appearances for Carlo Ancelotti's side, and if he can drop his personal demands, he may yet be wearing the blue and white of the Spurs.
